LightPollution

Light Pollution is a bummer

ALAN (artificial light at night) is an issue!

Light pollution (artificial light at night) negatively affects many club members, especially, of course our nocturnal comrades. Artificial light can interfere with lurking, finding chow, and sex. It can screw up migration and donk our preferred sleep schedules.

Human member find their enjoyment of the stars perturbed.

The impacts of light litter are still being studied by human scientist but we know it sucks. Consequences and grievances vary widely across critter, but its not just critters. Light pollution is also affecting plants. Disrupting their seasonal rhythms, dulling their senses to the natural light sources, and harming their magical and delicate kinship with we pollinators.

Club members and comrades do not lament! There are ways to help! Easy ways, Fun ways:

*Turn the lights off, YES IT IS THAT EASY!

*Choose warm lighting instead of cool even for indoors

*Change your outdoor lights to red.

*Share your knowledge and how it informs your opinions with humans at your school or workplace and with family and friends.

*Ask your community leaders and political officials to make changes to public outdoor lighting.

Simply directing the light downward or lowering lamp posts may help in increments.
