Dryocampa rubicunda

We live here in the watershed we’re Rosy Maple Moths. In the family Saturniidae, also known as the great silk moths. We got that cute wooly bully fuzzy wuzzy body in pinks and yellows and creams or whites when we are adults. Bushy antennae up on our cute heads that let us sense them pheromones for finding eachother.

We’re super cute right? We’re you’re neighbors? You care about our continued existance?

We like maple trees. Lay our yellow lil oval eggs on em in groups of 10 to 40, do that on the underside of the maple leaves. Our lil baby caterpillars feed on the leaves, particularly red maple, silver maple, and sugar maple. Everybody likes Sugar Maples right?

Life isn’t all sugar maple though. Preditors gunna do what they do. We gotta watch out for birds. Blue Jays man, Blue Jays.

We just want to live

We know this website is for humans and even though the author is personifying us we actually dont need to be apealing to humans just to exist. Stop eating the whole damn world humans, pick one chunk like Maples and just eat that.
